Mr Peter Johnson is a brilliant Australian fire safety consulting engineer. He has led the Arup Group's Fire Engineering Division, with more than 200 engineers in 23 offices around the world, from an Australian base. The Division's projects are important - including the Beijing Olympic Aquatic Centre (Water Cube) and the Sydney Opera House upgrade - and he personally led work on international (Heathrow Airport T5 Terminal; Fehmarnbelt Tunnel, Denmark; Hyderabad and Ben Gurion Airport Terminals) and national (National Gallery of Victoria; CSIRO/NASA Deep Space Tracking Station) projects. He served on the Australian Government's Task Force which reformed national building regulations with seminal influence on fire safety.
