Biography at time of election

Dr Robert Care is an Australian consulting engineer who has prject managed and designed large infrastructure projects around the world. He commenced his career in research and is now CEO of Arup Australasia, engineers, designers, planners and managers. He led the Arup design team in the award winning Wandoo Alliance which delivered the $470 million Wandoo Gas Field in Australia's North-West shelf. In transport, he was responsible for the technical research into the British Rail network following the Hatfield rail disaster, identifying causes and means of rectification. He has contributed to the well-being of Australia through his Deputy Chairmanship of the Australian Governments' Task Force which reformed the building regulations of Australia.
