Biography at time of election

Mr Ron Christie AM has been the most influential reformer of road, rail, and public infrastructure in New South Wales. As Chief Executive of the Olympic Roads and Transport Authority (ORTA), he was responsible for the brilliant success of all transportation operations and planning for the Sydney Olympics. Called out of retirement in 2009 at a time of low public confidence in transport infrastructure planning in NSW, he headed the team of experts which conducted the privately funded Sydney Morning Herald Independent Public Inquiry, and in February 2010, produced the widely acclaimed ?Long Term Public Transport Plan for Sydney?.
