The National AI Plan released today by the Federal Government needs a stronger focus on building robust national capabilities if we want to create a world-leading AI ecosystem for the nation.
ATSE welcomes the Australian Government’s announcement today that it will establish an AI Safety Institute, which was a recommendation of ATSE’s Unleashing growth: Australia’s AI Investment blueprintreport.
This funding will enable technology start-up company PsiQuantum to establish its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Brisbane and build the world’s first fault tolerant quantum computer, advancing the local quantum industry and creating 400 jobs and supporting PhD positions.
ATSE welcomes today’s release of the Australian Government's interim report on Safe and Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI), which includes many of the issues and suggestions raised by ATSE, and urges swift action in key areas.
